Hi. Very nice work here
I'm curious as to how you set up the lighting and HDRi maps (if you did use HDRi). It has a very natural look to it. I myself was having a bit of difficulties getting the lighting right on my latest car model. Could you explain the car-paint material, too please?
Just a couple of things, the shadows on the ground on the side of the car need to be darker, perhaps there's too much fill coming from the right. Also, the DOF you have on the background pic makes the car look like a mini-model. Using DOF like that makes things look smaller; which isn't good
Thanks ya3. I used a light dome for the lighting and applied a texture to the dome but didnt use any hdri's. There's 2 domes, one you see in the background and one with the brightness turned up a bit for the reflections. Thats about it really. Didnt take very long to render too.
The reason I used the DOF like that was to blend the ground in with the background because the background really isnt that far from the car. I didnt want to use it but it think it worked out better. I might do some update renders in the future and I'll try to fix some of that.

I wonder if you could send me a ZIP of your lighting setup and the related images (not the car)... I'd really like to analyse it cos that's the thing I'm trying to learn right now; lighting.
Cool. I hope you don't need it right this second though. lol Anyways, I'll send you the fill in a bit but I'm gonna have to check the image files size because it may be pretty big for my 56k.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.

We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
