Just playing around with some materials for this beast. There's still some adjustments and texturing to do but any input on the basic metal material would be great!

OK, if you made that model, very nice work!
Want to know what would make that thing look real? Texture it with scratches and missing spots of paint, like a real soldier's M4A1... gun show guns are boring compared to a real weapon of war.

Not -too- beat up, but just.. used.

Such as in this pic:

Notice how the edges and corners of the rails are worn down and shiny, and the metal on the barrel looks like the paint has been chared off... that kind of thing.

It might take a while, but hey, it'd be worth it! ^_^

Yeah models great, atm ur texture looks a little plastic. I think your specualr is a little off as well, try some texture maps, or as that other fella suggested add some wear. Im not great with textures but that model is killer.

That's a very nice model, but very shiny and plastic...would look awesome once you've added some dirt :)
